See you from 20 to 21 May for this new edition of the Coutellia show dedicated to the art of cutlery in all its forms.
The festival promises to be rich in meetings and novelties for knife and forge enthusiasts.
"Through Coutellia, the whole of Thiers cutlery, the town's heritage and the transmission of an eight-century-old know-how are being honoured," explains Jean-Pierre Treille, President of Coutellia.
Organised by the Puy-de-Dôme Chamber of Commerce and Industry with the support of the Auvergne Rhône-Alpes region (and the Puy-de-Dôme Chamber of Trades and Crafts), the town of Thiers, the Thiers Dore et Montagne Community of Municipalities, the Livradois-Forez Regional Nature Park and Excalibur, this Festival helps to boost the knife industry in France while also contributing to the influence of the Thiers area on a global scale.
The Coutellia trade show in Thiers, a paradise for cutlery lovers, is preparing for a new flamboyant edition on 20 and 21 May 2023. The event, which honours French and international cutlery craftsmanship, is being held with great anticipation in the historic cutlery capital of France, Thiers.
Since its first edition, the Salon de Coutellia has become an unmissable event for lovers of fine cutlery, collectors, traditional craftsmen and even for novices curious to discover this fascinating world. Each year, the show presents a wide variety of knives, ranging from traditional pieces to the most modern and avant-garde creations. After a successful first edition in 2022, Coutellia will once again host the Mondial du Damas, the only competition of its kind that pits knife makers and blacksmiths from all over the world against each other in the art of damascene.
The Mondial du Damas will be held during this exhibition, an international team competition based on the art of forging and damascus steel.
A unique competition that will take place over two days, under the guidance of an exceptional jury of cutlery professionals.
The revelation with acid of the different layers and patterns produced on the steel will be performed in front of the public.
Every year, the most beautiful creations of our exhibitors are submitted to our exceptional jury. Exhibitors registered for the festival are invited to present their most beautiful pieces.

Coming from 16 different countries, 300 cutlers, cutlery manufacturers, raw material suppliers and collectors will exhibit and sell their products and creations.
As every year and to allow visitors to enrich their knowledge, you will find in parallel to the exhibition part, in the heart of the village, numerous animations assured by associations: the Old Blades, the Confraternity of the Corkscrew, the Rasophiles. A presentation of the cutlery training (with the CFA of Thiers), a space dedicated to the old knives, a place of the cutlery, as well as a cutlery creation contest.
Whether you are a professional looking to refine your skills or a beginner wishing to take your first steps in cutlery, you will find a workshop that meets your needs
So many activities to quickly immerse yourself in the world of knives, while keeping the spirit of conviviality specific to the Festival.
