Laguiole sport knife is totally safe due to a back-lock security mechanism. This knife was designed by Gilles Steinberg and Robert Beillonnet, twice winner of the ‘Best French Craftsman’ award.
• How is a damascus blade forged?
The main technique for reproducing damascene steel and its patterns is to skilfully accumulate together layers upon layers of hard and soft steel then bringing out the layering by a final treatment that gives it its unique aspect.
The result is an unusual, exceptional blade with perfect aesthetics.
The damascene technique also brings a certain suppleness to blades with a very hard core, increasing their solidity.

• How does a lockback system work?
The blade automatically locks open. To unlock it, you must press the rocker on the back on the knife, freeing the blade for shutting. Simple and efficient.
