In the 1980s, the media made it seem that the Laguiole with an aluminium handle was the invention "of the Century". Nothing could be less true! Indeed, these are the words of a brand and model registration dated 29 July 1910:

- possible options: aluminium handles can be hollow or full, smooth or facetted.

So no more dis-information: aluminium handled Laguiole knives are nothing new.

Not what I expected. The aluminum was dented and scratched. The spring was raised a lot above the rest of the knife, I expected it to sit flush. Unfortunately I didn't see the quality I was expecting.
