The Armor is the direct descendant of the celebrated ‘London’ knife, popularly used by sailors in the 19th to the early 20th century.
These heavy-duty working knives, also known as the Gabier or Terre-Neuvas, were formerly used by the sailors and farmers of Brittany.
This knife has a so-called "sheepsfoot" blade, which in former times was the only blade allowed aboard boats (the curved end helped to prevent serious injuries in the event of fights breaking out between the sailors and proved most efficient for slicing through sails and ropes.
The fishtail handle is made of wengé hardwood, which is almost as resilient as any marine fish species.
This makes it the most ideal sailor’s knife!
