Used for many years, olive-tree wood is a material loved by carvers and cabinetmakers alike. It was used a lot, both for wire-brushed veneer and end grain wood in the 17th and 18th century cabinetmaking traditions in France, England or even in Holland.
The epitome of the Mediterranean tree, forever young, it is very tough, with dense grain and a lovely polish, yellow with brown veins. Its particularity is that it does not absorb surrounding smells.
